The USB-I2C module is a low cost USB to I2C module with a simple command set, allowing a personal computer to interface to any I2C device. The module is self powered from the USB cable and can supply up to 70mA at 5V (when hooked up to a standard 100mA USB port) to drive the devices on the I2C bus. The module is an I2C master only, not a slave.
Any one of the Devantech I2C sonars (the SRF02, SRF08, SRF10) combines with the USB-I2C to make a complete USB self-powered ultrasonic ranger. Easily used from Linux and MacOS as well as Windows. Many other Devantech devices such as the CMPS03 Compass, the SP03 Speech Synthesizer, and the MD03 or MD22 Motor Controllers, will also interface directly.
